Still Life ii. is our second collaborative exploration of traditional still life imagery, this time of vibrantly coloured and ripe fruit. 

 

Just as in Still Life i., the process by which we arrived at the final composition speaks to the recurring themes in our work of mutual care and dependency. 

 

I pick a fruit and offer it to you: sweet, tangey or bitter. We exchange it at the meeting of our mouths. There are lipstick stains and bite marks covering the fruit we placed on the plinth. The still life grows with each nourishing exchange. What’s left is a gnawed-at accumulation of colour, rich in palette for our eyes and mouths.
